This tool ranks the most controversial YouTube videosin 25 countries — not by views, but by how hard people argue in the comments. Every day CreatorDB scans YouTube’s trending charts and computes a Controversy Score for each video: comments ÷ likes. The higher the score, the more the comment section outweighs the applause.

How the Controversy Score Works

A like is one-tap approval. A comment takes effort — and on polarizing videos, that effort is usually disagreement, debate, or outrage. Most viral videos collect 2–10 comments per 100 likes (score 0.02–0.1). When a video pushes past 50 comments per 100 likes (score 0.5+), something is being argued about. To keep ratios meaningful, videos need at least 1,000 likesto qualify, and only videos already on YouTube’s trending charts are scored.
